Jack Nicholson

I'm not sure if anyone has played the lead in more great movies. Drama, comedy, or mixture of both, Jack can do it all.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (DVD)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (VHS)
(1975) Winner of 5 Oscars, including Best Actor for Nicholson. This is one of those rare films that may be even better than the book.

As Good As It Gets (DVD)
As Good As It Gets (VHS)
(1997) Everyone in this movie was great. Should have won Best Picture over that over-hyped FX flick about a big boat.

The Shining (VHS)
Nicholson shines (sorry) in this adaptation of King's novel.

A Few Good Men (DVD)
A few Good Men(VHS)
(1992) Star performances from 3 true stars: Nicholson, who really only has a cemeo role, Demi Moore, in one of her best performances, and Tom Cruise, who may have been better in 4th of July but not by much.

Batman (DVD)
Batman(VHS)
(1989) Michael Keaton co-stars as the cave dweller. Nicholson steals the show as The Joker. The only Batman movie worth watching, much less owning, although I must admit Alicia Silverstone was quite fetching as Batgirl. Oh, and Uma was in that movie. Never mind.

Chinatown (VHS)
(1974) Faye Dunaway was up to the task of co-starring with Jack in this detective drama.

Easy Rider (VHS)
(1969) One of the classic Harley anti-establishment movies.

Five Easy Pieces (VHS)
(1970) Demanding character study of a man trying to run from his past.

Goin' South (VHS)
(1978) In this Western comedy, Nicholson is saved from hanging by an old maid who puts him to work in her gold mine.

Hoffa (VHS)
(1992) Nicholson portrays the life of the union boss.

The Postman Always Rings Twice (DVD)
The Postman Always Rings Twice (VHS)
(1981) Tale of adultery and murder gone wrong, much more explicit than the '46 version. Features Jessica Lange as the wife.

Wolf (DVD)
Wolf(VHS)
(1994) I must confess I like even bad horror films. (I mean, I even enjoyed the An America Werewolf in . . . flicks.) But this is my favorite werewolf movie ever, as mild-mannered Jack is bitten and transformed, taking revenge on his bitch of an ex and his publisher. If you don't like these kinds of movies normally, you might like this one.
