Demi Moore

If I could only meet one actress, I think it would be Demi. Not that I think I'd ever have a chance, even after her breakup with Bruce, but there just seems to be more to her than a pretty face and great body. I think roles like GI Jane and A Few Good Men take an intelligent actess, not just beauty.

Disclosure (DVD)
VHS not available at this time
(1994) Michael Douglas co-stars in this story of a man who sues for sexual harassment.

"About last night . . ." (DVD)
"About last night . . ." (VHS)
(1986) Romantic comedy based on old premise that men can't commit to a LTR.

A Few Good Men (DVD)
A few Good Men(VHS)
(1992) Star performances from 3 true stars: Nicholson, who really only has a cemeo role, Demi Moore, in one of her best performances, and Tom Cruise, who may have been better in 4th of July but not by much.

GI Jane (DVD)
GI Jane(VHS)
(1997) This movie provoked an interesting discussion with the lady I saw it with. Bottom line, we agreed that it isn't that women can't handle combat status -- men can't handle it, because they endanger themselves and others by their overprotective attitudes (at least according to the combat sequence in the movie.)

Ghost (VHS)
(1990) If you want to watch a movie about a love that lasts beyond the grave, see this one instead of the hyped boat movie. Whoopi almost steals the show as a medium.

Indecent Proposal (VHS)
(1993) So, what would you do for a million dollars?

The Juror (DVD)
The Juror (VHS)
(1996) Alec Baldwin is a mobster on trial and Demi is the juror that he threatens and abuses to guarantee an innocent verdict.

The Scarlet Letter (VHS)
(1995) The classic Hawthorne short-story is adapted well in this tale of adultery and its consequences in Puritanical New England.

Striptease (VHS)
(1996) I don't understand why so many people panned this movie. Demi is very good as the single mom who loses custody of her daughter because she doesn't have a job. The only job she can find is in a stip club. Burt Reynolds got raves for Boogie Nights but I thought his performance here as a bungling, horny congressman in the pockets of the sugar cartel was at least as good. A serious subject - child custody - punctuated with some funny stuff. I wonder if you really could find a boa constrictor in the middle of the night?
